Green Belt Review
The Green Belt Review will be published
in full in a few weeks time and we can study its detailed findings- but in the meantime we can take some comfort from
the knowledge that whilst there is a long way to go before all parties agree to these recommendations ( we expect them
to be criticised and challenged by developers and landowners) we have won the very important first stage of the process
and have in Nicholas Pearson Associates a powerful ally to work with to ensure that future generations can enjoy what we do
today -- the Claines Green Belt

Fernhill Heath Green Belt Threat
Crest Nicholson, the proposed developers of Church Farm, have
also an option on land to the north of Fernhill Heath, and this too is GreenBelt ! The site is the first field on the leftside
of the A38 as you exit Fernhill Heath towards Drotwich ( opposite the entrance to Hindlip police Headquarters). The developers
have held two public meetings ,in December and February as part of a "public consultation" on a development
of 200 houses on 9ha of Greenbelt land including a minimum of 30% affordable housing. A formal planning application
will follow soon with a possible outcome by June 2010 !! Unfortunately,in the absence of a robust 5 year land
allocation for building by Wychavon Council this application could easily be upheld ,on appeal ,and would then pose a major
threat to the integrity of our narrow bit of greenbelt. In the meantime a potential formal planning application to develop
"Gwillam,s Farm Shop" could be recieved in a similar time scale further intensifying the pressure
on the GreenBelt.
